Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Bosworth, has urged rural businesses and organisations to apply for grants from the Government’s Rural Prosperity Fund.

In September 2022 the Government allocated £400,000 to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council through the Rural England Prosperity Fund as part of its commitment to level up rural communities and businesses.

Now the Borough Council are calling on rural businesses and community groups to apply for grants worth between £7,500 and £22,500, with a minimum 25% match funding requirement.

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council has been awarded £400,000 capital-only funding for the period 2023-2025. £100,000 for year one (2023/24) and £300,000 for year two (2024/25).

The Council is expressly looking for projects that support the rural tourism sector, wider rural small and micro enterprises, heritage enhancements and improvements to community facilities.

Applications are assessed on a first come first served basis and the closing date is midday on Wednesday 29th November 2023.

“It’s vital that our area and the cornerstones of our community that need it most are supported by the Fund. Hinckley and Bosworth is a proud rural area and I speak to community groups and businesses each week who are working hard on projects which would benefit greatly from this additional funding.

“We’ve seen Government funding go towards supporting the Oddfellows Arms which is the only pub in Higham on the Hill, a national conservation project at Twycross Zoo and our healthcare infrastructure… but it doesn’t have to stop there. I urge any group or business to take a look at the criteria and apply for this grant!”
