Peter Bedford, Conservative candidate for Markfield, Desford & Thornton County Council Division, and members of his campaign team have been calling on residents in Markfield to hear their views and concerns on a range of issues, both local and national.
Peter said, “As ever, it was good to hear Markfield residents’ opinions on important issues and also the improvements they would like to see in the local area.
“If elected to the County Council in May, my number one priority will be delivering for local people and that is why I think it is so important to get out into our communities and talk with residents about the issues that matter to them.”
About Peter Bedford:
Peter grew up in East Northamptonshire prior to relocating to the County in 2004 for his University education, reading Law, at the University of Leicester. Qualifying as a Chartered Account Peter has worked for a number of Leicestershire based companies including Next and Bardon Aggregates; and currently works as an Internal Audit Manager for the branded soft drinks manufacturer Britvic plc.
Having narrowly missed out in the 2013 County Council election Peter is convinced he can do even better this time.
Peter says, “It is a real honour to have been selected for a second time as the Conservative Party Candidate for the County Council Seat of Markfield with Desford and Thornton.
I have always been passionate about campaigning with, and championing the causes, of local people. By 'putting communities first’ listening to, and acting on behalf of all local residents I will be a strong voice for our area at County Hall."
In his spare time Peter enjoys the theatre, city breaks and attending horse race meetings across the country.
