On a typically busy Saturday morning for Burbage Borough Councillor Stan Rooney he managed to combine a residents’ meeting with some extra litter picking duties in the area he represents.

Stan says, “I had been at a meeting I organised for local people and a building site manager to help ensure that residents are not disturbed or inconvenienced by the extensive construction work going on in the area and took the opportunity to help improve our environment.

“The Council personnel do a good job of clearing litter and other discarded items but until thoughtless people stop dumping such things in our streets I will always do my best to help keep Burbage as clean and tidy as possible”.
