David Tredinnick, MP for Bosworth, has once again called on Arriva to reconsider its plans to alter the 153 rural bus service.
The local MP has cited significant concerns in respect of the impact on numerous local residents due to the planned loss of the 153 service to the small village communities of Nailstone, Carlton and Barton in the Beans.
David Tredinnick said, “The loss of the 153 bus will impact upon pensioners and school pupils and college students in particular in these villages, as well as an array of other residents who value the opportunity to use the service.
“For the benefit of people in the affected communities Arriva needs to give serious consideration to a review of the company's decision to stop serving these rural villages as for some residents the bus really represents a lifeline.
“I will continue to work with local County Councillor Ivan Ould to fight to retain this vital bus service.”
