Local female entrepreneurship celebrated by Bosworth’s MP
Penny Price Aromatherapy (PPA), a family-run business based in Hinckley, has been chosen for an award which celebrates female entrepreneurship by Dr Luke Evans, the Member of Parliament for Bosworth.
Founded in 2003, the ethos of the business is to ‘deliver only the best in aromatherapy training and products’ and now has purpose-built academies in the UK, Japan, Hong Kong and Canada, training aromatherapists and massage therapists.
PPA also offer e-learning opportunities and encourage graduates to set-up their own businesses. The local company aims to empower others through knowledge and friendship. Trained aromatherapists are then encouraged to connect via PPA’s monthly Saturday Club, a networking event open to all.
The MP HERoe’s award given to PPA by Dr Luke Evans, is the latest in a long list of accolades for the business , which was named Aromatherapy Company of the Year in 2021 and 2020, as well as the East Midlands Chamber’s Small Business of the Year for 2018.
Penny Price said: “It was a great honour to be named Dr Luke Evans’ HERo! Out of all the businesses he must know, I was humbled that he chose me for this award. Dr Luke was so helpful to our business during Covid and my thanks are with him.
“I am so proud of Penny Price Aromatherapy as a company and of the wonderful team that make it work. We will be 20 years old in May 2023 and over that time we have had to be flexible, innovative and open to new ways of working. It has been an exciting journey! Some things have not changed – the quality of our essential oils and other aromatherapy products. We look forward to the next 20 years working together to continue our journey.”
Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Bosworth, said: “It was a real pleasure to welcome Penny and her daughter Ellie, who is Managing Director, to Parliament and commend them for their excellent entrepreneurship.
“Penny Price Aromatherapy is one of many wonderful businesses in our area which offers extensive training and business development opportunities.
“In nearly 20 years PPA has experienced really difficult times but have shown strong determination to succeed and, as such, are thoroughly deserving of this award.”
