Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Bosworth, said “Since being elected in 2019 improving our healthcare has been a top priority. I’m so pleased to see work to make way for the £24m testing unit at Hinckley & District Hospital on Mount Road, that I and our NHS secured from Government, has started.
“I know improvements for the Hospital have been talked about for years, but with the demolition starting local people can believe with their own eyes that this is happening!
“Healthcare is a top priority for our community and the Community Diagnostic Centre will mean local people can access much-needed services, from MRI and CT scans to X-Rays and blood tests, on their doorstep.
“This is all part of wider improvements to healthcare infrastructure in our area as last year HUNDREDS of millions was given to fund two new hospitals, a midwifery-led unit and multi-storey car park at Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General and Glenfield Hospital.
“Well done to our local NHS for getting the project to this stage. I look forward to seeing further progress on the CDC over the coming months!”
