Although I have a CV postcode, I have lived with my husband in the Borough of Hinckley and Bosworth for 45 years in the parish of Witherley where I raised my 3 children.
Before retirement I was a Business Manager for a large junior school in Warwickshire for 23 years and prior to that a P.A. to a Retail Director.
I was first elected as a Borough Councillor to the Market Bosworth ward in 2015 and was privileged to be re-elected in 2019
The ward consists of four separate parishes: Cadeby, Carlton, Market Bosworth, Congerstone & Shackerstone.
I became a Parish Councillor 33 years ago when I felt our rural parish was often “overlooked” by the Borough and County Councils. I remain a Parish councillor to this day. I feel the parish council is the first tier of democracy and will be aware of very local issues.
Not surprisingly I emphasise with this philosophy as a Borough Councillor and work diligently with the Parishes in my ward.
I am available 24/7 because I believe issues do not just happen 9.00a.m. – 5.00p.m. 5 days per week.
Since being elected in 2015 I have at various times been a member of the following committees: Planning, Ethical Governance & Personnel, Asset Strategy & Regeneration, Licensing, Health & Wellbeing Board, Audit. I am currently appointed to the following charitable bodies: Spence’s Pension Charity for Market Bosworth and the Dixie Educational Trust.
