It’s been another busy week in Westminster made slightly more complicated than I had at first anticipated by waking upon on Monday morning with potential Covid symptoms in the house! It meant that I had to self-isolate whilst working from home for a couple of days, but thankfully the test came back negative.
Please do remember that if you have a high temperature, develop a new persistent cough or lose your sense of taste or smell to get a test as soon as possible. None of us are immune to this horrible virus.
Social media is a great tool to communicate with my constituents, sadly however, it isn’t a great tool for nuance or reasoned debate. For that reason I would like to reiterate that whilst I do read the comments on my social media feeds I don’t respond – I’ve been very clear about this since I was elected as your MP.
I always urge constituents to contact me by email providing your address – I can only respond to those who live in the Bosworth constituency. If you email me you should always receive a response.
This week I have received many emails about Labour’s Opposition Day motion seeking to extend holiday entitlement to free school meal vouchers. I voted against the motion because whilst it is an important debate I fundamentally believe that it was based upon cheap political point scoring rather than addressing the real and serious issue of supporting some of the most vulnerable families in our community.
You can also find my views on the issue by visiting: https://www.drlukeevans.org.uk/campaigns/extension-free-school-meal-vou…;
If you would like to email me at [email protected] concerning this or any other matter, as ever, I will be happy to respond to constituents.

- Met with members of the Hinckley BID to talk with them about how the Government can help small businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic.
