Finally, the warm weather has arrived...
I hope many of you were able to enjoy the sunshine over the bank holiday weekend as I did on my staycation with the wife and whippets down to Dorset, getting the most out of National Tourism Week.
On a similar note, I was able to re-visit Twycross Zoo this week to discuss challenges they face coming out of lockdown. It was great to see they are fully prepared to safely welcome back visitors and I would highly recommend a trip to our local zoo this summer.
Further to that, my week consisted of:
- Visiting Sport in Desford to understand the financial challenges facing a local sports charity.
- Visited local residents to discuss issues they are facing with the communal area outside their properties.
- Held my weekly surgery, and spoke with constituents regarding; communication between local public authorities, local social housing needs, restructuring of a national company, and difficulties facing the hospitality industry.
As Step 4 out of lockdown is soon approaching, I continually advise everyone to follow the guidance and remember, Hands, Face, Space. We must make sure we are doing everything we can to control the spread of the virus to ensure the roadmap is irreversible.
